The Airline

Air Wales, Wales’ only airline, was established in 1999 with the assistance of Swansea property financier Roy Thomas.

Initially based at Pembrey Airport in West Wales and operating one plane, Air Wales has expanded dramatically. The airline currently employs over 100 personnel, including 18 flight deck staff, 15 engineers, 20 pilots and 16 cabin crew.

Now in its fifth year, Air Wales operates services from Swansea Airport to Cork, Dublin and London City and from Cardiff Airport to Cork, Dublin, London City and Newcastle. Air Wales has also recently taken over the former BA routes from Plymouth Airport to Dublin and Cork.
